By creating an account or using Echo, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use Echo.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Edgertech ("we", "us", "our"), a UK-based business operating Echo at echo.edgertech.co.uk. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Echo is a document intelligence platform that allows you to upload documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT, CSV, and XLSX files) into workspaces and ask questions about them using AI. Echo uses OpenAI's API to process your document content and generate responses.
Echo is designed for professional use by individuals, freelancers, agencies, and small teams. It is not designed for consumer use or for processing particularly sensitive categories of personal data.
When you create an Echo account, you agree to:
You must be at least 18 years old to use Echo. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.
Free trial
Echo offers a 14-day free trial. No payment card is required to start your trial. During your trial you have access to 1 workspace, up to 5 documents, and up to 50 AI messages. To continue using Echo after your trial ends, or if you reach a trial limit sooner, you may upgrade to a paid plan at any time from within your account.
Subscription plans
Echo Pro (£19/month or £190/year) is for individual users. Echo Team (£49/month or £490/year) supports up to 5 users. Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable.
Billing
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payments are processed by Stripe. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge your card automatically at each billing cycle.
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain full access to Echo until that date. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods.
Price changes
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will apply from your next renewal date.
Trial accounts include an allowance of 50,000 AI tokens (roughly 4 characters of text per token) for the 14-day trial period, alongside the workspace, document and message limits described in Section 4.
Echo Pro and Echo Team do not have a published usage limit for normal use. To protect the service for all users, we apply an internal fair-use threshold designed to catch only extreme or abusive usage patterns — it is not intended to affect genuine, normal use of Echo. If your usage is unusually high, we will contact you to discuss your needs before taking any action on your account.
Individual file uploads are limited to 25MB per file, across all plans.
You agree not to use Echo to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if we believe you have violated these terms.
Please read this section carefully.
Echo uses artificial intelligence to generate responses based on your uploaded documents. AI can make mistakes. Echo's responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, even when citing a specific document.
You must not rely solely on Echo's output for professional, legal, financial, medical, or other important decisions without independently verifying the information from the original source documents. Echo is a productivity tool, not a substitute for professional judgement or advice.
We are not liable for any decisions made or actions taken based on Echo's AI output. You use Echo's AI responses at your own risk.
You retain full ownership of all documents and content you upload to Echo. By uploading content to Echo, you grant us a limited licence to store, process, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of providing the Echo service to you.
We do not claim any ownership over your documents or the AI responses generated from them. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content you add to Echo.
Echo Team plans allow up to 5 users to collaborate within shared workspaces. The account owner (Team Leader) is responsible for managing team members and ensuring all members comply with these Terms. Content uploaded to shared workspaces is accessible to all members with access to that specific workspace.
If you remove a team member from your account, they will immediately lose access to all shared workspaces, and their plan reverts to what it was before joining your team. Their individual data remains subject to our Privacy Policy.
Echo, including its software, design, branding, and AI features, is owned by Edgertech. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use Echo as described in these Terms.
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Edgertech's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to your use of Echo is limited to the total subscription fees you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Echo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that Echo will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any errors will be corrected. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any AI-generated content.
You may close your account at any time through the account settings page. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you violate these Terms, fail to pay subscription fees, or if we are required to do so by law.
Upon termination, your access to Echo will cease. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Echo after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Echo will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at tim@edgertech.co.uk.
